Notice for Chattem Chemicals, Inc., City of Chattanooga, Sofix LLC, Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, TRANSFLO Terminal Services, Inc., 7019 Highway 153 Corporation

Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control
Board will receive public comments upon the applications for the installation of the
following air pollutant sources in Hamilton County, TN.

Chattem Chemicals, Inc., has proposed to replace a boiler with a new larger boiler
at 3708 St. Elmo Avenue, Chattanooga, TN. The new boiler will be fueled by natural
gas. Increases in annual air pollutant emissions resulting from this replacement are
estimated to be no more than 5.29 tons of nitrogen oxides, 4.27 tons of carbon
monoxide, 0.39 ton of particulate matter, 0.28 ton of volatile organic compounds, and
0.029 ton of sulfur dioxide.

The City of Chattanooga has proposed to install a new emergency generator engine
at 2754 Kanasita Drive, Hixson, TN. The engine will be fueled by diesel fuel. Annual air
pollutant emissions resulting from the operation of this engine are estimated to be no
more than 1.99 tons of nitrogen oxides, 0.30 ton of carbon monoxide, 0.021 ton of
particulate matter, 0.0046 ton of volatile organic compounds, and 0.00094 ton of sulfur
oxides.

Sofix LLC has proposed to install a new emergency fire-suppression pump engine
at 2800 Riverport Road, Chattanooga, TN. The engine will be fueled by diesel fuel.
Annual air pollutant emissions resulting from the operation of this engine are estimated
to be no more than 0.055 ton of carbon monoxide, 0.039 ton of nitrogen oxides, 0.024
ton of volatile organic compounds, 0.0031 ton of particulate matter, and 0.00010 ton of
sulfur oxides.

Wal-Mart Stores East, LP, has proposed to install a new generator engine at 3550
Cummings Hwy., Chattanooga, TN. The engine will be fueled by natural gas. Annual air
pollutant emissions resulting from the operation of this engine are estimated to be no
more than 16.19 tons of carbon monoxide, 2.46 tons of volatile organic compounds,
0.43 ton of particulate matter, 0.13 ton of nitrogen oxides, and 0.024 ton of sulfur
dioxide.

TRANSFLO Terminal Services, Inc., has proposed to replace a boiler with a new
larger boiler at 520 W. 26th Street, Chattanooga, TN. The new boiler will be fueled by
natural gas or No. 2 fuel oil. Increases in annual air pollutant emissions resulting from
this replacement are estimated to be no more than 2.05 tons of carbon monoxide, 1.33
tons of nitrogen oxides, 0.48 ton of sulfur oxides, 0.22 ton of particulate matter, and 0.16
ton of volatile organic compounds.

7019 Highway 153 Corporation has proposed to install a gasoline dispensing facility
at 7019 Hwy. 153, Hixson, TN. This facility will utilize Stage I vapor recovery.

Written comments on any of these proposed permitting actions or requests for a
public hearing concerning any of them should be mailed or delivered to the Bureau
Executive Director at the above address. Comments or requests must be received by
4:30 p.m. EDT, Wednesday, May 17, 2023, to be considered in the specified proposed
permitting action.
