Public Notice – Covenant Funeral Service, Inc.

Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control
Board will receive public comments upon the application for the installation of the
following air pollutant sources in Hamilton County, TN.


Covenant Funeral Service, Inc., has proposed to install a second cremation system
at 4340 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN. Annual air pollutant emissions resulting
from the operation of this equipment are estimated to be no more than 3.74 tons of
nitrogen oxides, 0.70 ton of volatile organic compounds (VOC), 0.70 ton of sulfur
dioxide, 0.46 ton of carbon monoxide, 0.35 ton of hydrogen chloride, and 0.27 ton of
particulate matter (PM). The emissions of VOC and PM from the cremation system will
be controlled by an afterburner.

    Written comments on this proposed permitting action or requests for a public
    hearing concerning it should be mailed or delivered to the Bureau Executive Director at
    the above address. Comments or requests must be received by 4:30 p.m. EDT,
    Monday, June 17, 2024, to be considered in the proposed permitting action.
    If a public hearing is requested, notice of the date, time, and location of the hearing
    will be posted on the Bureau’s website, apcb.org, by Thursday, June 20, 2024.
