Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control
Board will receive public comments upon the renewal application for the operation of the
following air pollutant source in Hamilton County, TN.
Chattem Chemicals, Inc., has applied for the renewal of the Part 70 (Title V) permit
for their manufacturing facility at 3708 St. Elmo Ave., Chattanooga, TN. Potential air
pollutant emissions from the facility are estimated to be 96.11 tons/year of volatile
organic compounds, 17.35 tons/year of nitrogen oxides, 14.01 tons/year of carbon
monoxide, 3.00 tons/year of particulate matter, 1.71 tons/year of hydrogen chloride, and
0.24 ton/year of sulfur dioxide.

Written comments on this proposed permitting action or requests for a public
hearing concerning it should be mailed or delivered to the Bureau Executive Director at
the above address. Comments or requests must be received by 4:30 p.m. EST,
Monday, December 15, 2025, to be considered in the proposed permitting action.
If a public hearing is requested, notice of the date, time, and location of the hearing
will be posted on the Bureau’s website, apcb.org., by Thursday, December 18, 2025.
