People with lung disease such as asthma, children and teens, older adults, and people who are routinely active outdoors for six or more hours a day -- take any of these steps to reduce your exposure: Choose less strenuous activities (like walking instead of running) so you don't breathe as hard. Shorten the amount of time you are active outdoors. Be active outdoors when air quality is better. No burning is allowed until further notice.

8/23/2024 – NOTE: This hearing has been cancelled at the request of the appellant.

A meeting of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board will be held at 5:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, September 9, 2024, to decide an appeal of Director’s Order No. 24-33 concerning a civil penalty and enforcement costs that were assessed to the City of Chattanooga Moccasin Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant. The meeting will be held in the boardroom of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau, located at:
