Proposed Permitting Action – Notice of Public Comment Period and Opportunity for Hearing – GreyRock Materials, LLC

May 26, 2026: Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board will receive public comments upon the application for the installation of the following air pollutant source in Hamilton County, TN.

GreyRock Materials, LLC, has proposed to install a drum mix asphalt plant at 2027East Polymer Drive, Chattanooga, TN. Annual air pollutant emissions resulting from the operation of this plant are estimated to be no more than 40.02 tons of carbon monoxide, 17.14 tons of particulate matter (PM), 14.89 tons of volatile organic compounds, 11.53 tons of nitrogen oxides (NO X ), and 2.48 tons of sulfur oxides. PM emissions from a dryer of this plant will be controlled by a cyclone followed by a filter baghouse. NO X emissions from the dryer will be reduced by the use of “low-NO X ” burners.

Comments or requests must be received by 4:30 p.m. EDT, Friday, June 26, 2026, to be considered in the proposed permitting action.
