Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control
Board will receive public comments upon the renewal applications for the operation of
the following air pollutant sources in Hamilton County, TN.
Astec Industries, Inc., has applied for the renewal of the Part 70 (Title V) permit for
their manufacturing facility at 4101 Jerome Ave., Chattanooga, TN. Potential air
pollutant emissions from the facility are estimated to be 91.26 tons/year of volatile
organic compounds, 9.03 tons/year of particulate matter, 7.83 tons/year of carbon
monoxide, 1.39 tons/year of nitrogen oxides, and 0.91 ton/year of sulfur oxides.

Sonoco Products Co. has applied for the renewal of the Part 70 (Title V) permit for
their manufacturing facility at 701 Manufacturers Rd., Chattanooga, TN. Potential air
pollutant emissions from the facility are estimated to be 556.87 tons/year of sulfur
oxides, 163.00 tons/year of nitrogen oxides, 75.53 tons/year of carbon monoxide, 54.95
tons/year of volatile organic compounds, 42.18 tons/year of particulate matter, 0.61
ton/year of hydrogen chloride, and 0.065 ton/year of hydrogen fluoride. Questions may

Materials concerning these proposed permitting actions may be inspected in person
or online beginning at 4:30 p.m. EST, Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023.

Written comments on either of these proposed permitting actions or requests for a
public hearing concerning either of them should be mailed or delivered to the Bureau
Executive Director at the above address. Comments or requests must be received by
4:30 p.m. EST, Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, to be considered in the specified proposed
permitting action.

will be posted on the Bureau’s website, apcb.org, and published in the Chattanooga
