Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board will receive public comments upon the application for the installation of the following air pollutant sources in Hamilton County, TN.

UniFirst Corporation has proposed to install a laundering facility at 6162 Enterprise Park Dr., Chattanooga, TN. Air pollutant emissions resulting from the operation of washers, dryers, a boiler, and a wastewater treatment process of this facility are estimated to be no more than 10.29 pounds/hour and 30.58 tons/year of particulate matter, 46.52 pounds/hour and 21.16 tons/year of volatile organic compounds, 1.81 pounds/hour and 7.93 tons/year of nitrogen oxides, 1.46 pounds/hour and 6.40 tons/year of carbon monoxide, and 0.010 pound/hour and 0.044 ton/year of sulfur oxides. The dryers and boiler will be fueled exclusively by natural gas. Questions may be directed to Alan Frazier, Bureau engineering manager, at 423.643.5978.

Vulcan Construction Materials, LLC, has proposed to install a portable rock crushing and screening unit at 4700 Shallowford Rd., Chattanooga, TN. Air pollutant emissions of particulate matter resulting from the operation of this unit will be controlled by water sprays and are estimated to be no more than 0.53 pound/hour and 2.33 tons/year. Anyone desiring to comment on either of these proposed permitting actions or request a public hearing concerning either of them should mail or deliver their written comments or request to the Bureau Director at the above address. Comments or requests must be received by 4:30 p.m. EDT, Friday, March 26, 2021, to be considered in the specified proposed permitting action. If a public hearing is requested, notice of the date, time, and format of the hearing, incorporating appropriate safety measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be posted on the Bureau’s website, apcb.org, and published in the Chattanooga Times Free Press by Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
