Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board will receive public comments for the sources listed below.

June 18 – July 18, 2019: Vulcan Construction Materials, LLC
Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau (Bureau) will receive public comments upon the application for installation of the following air contaminant source located in Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Vulcan Construction Materials, LLC, 4700 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN, has applied for installation of a limestone fines portable conveying unit hopper and conveyors 3A and 3B. Particulate matter emissions resulting from the installation are not to exceed 0.14 lbs/hour and
0.61 tons per year. Facility-wide particulate matter emissions remain below major source thresholds. Questions may be directed to Robert Kalch, Bureau permit engineer, at (423) 643-5990.

June 10 – July 10, 2019: City of Chattanooga Summit Landfill

Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board will receive public comments upon the renewal application for the operation of the following air pollutant source located in Hamilton County, TN.

The City of Chattanooga Summit Landfill, Woodland Drive, Chattanooga, TN, has applied for the renewal of their Part 70 (Title V) permit.  There are no increases in potential air pollutant emissions over current permitted limits as a result of this permit renewal.  Air pollutant emissions resulting from the operation of the landfill are limited to 59.59 tons/year for volatile organic compounds, 11.97 tons/year for nitrogen oxides, and 5.09 tons/year for particulate matter.

Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board will receive public comments upon the application for the operation of the following air pollutant source in Hamilton County, TN.

Miller Industries Towing Equipment Inc. has proposed to operate an existing paint spray booth at 6203 Jim Snow Way, Chattanooga, TN.  Potential air pollutant emissions resulting from the operation of this spray booth are estimated to be 8.75 pounds/hour and 13.0 tons/year of volatile organic compounds and 0.21 pound/hour and 0.32 ton/year of particulate matter.

Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau (the Bureau)will receive public comments upon the renewal application for the operation of the following air pollutant source located in Hamilton County, TN.

The City of Chattanooga Landfill, 9327 Birchwood Pike, Harrison, TN, has applied for the renewal of their Part 70 (Title V) permit.  There are no increases in potential air pollutant emissions over current permitted limits as a result of this permit renewal.  Volatile organic compound emissions resulting from the operation of the landfill are limited to 75.0 tons/year.

Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board will receive public comments upon the application for the installation of the following air pollutant sources in Hamilton County, TN.

Heatec, Inc., has proposed to install a plasma cutting table at 5200 Wilson Rd., Chattanooga, TN.  Air pollutant emissions of particulate matter resulting from the operation of the cutting table will be controlled by a cartridge-filter baghouse.  These emissions are estimated to be no more than 0.010 pound/hour and 0.042 ton/year.

Mars Wrigley Confectionery US, LLC, has proposed to install citric acid, starch, and gelatin transfer systems at 3002 Jersey Pike, Chattanooga, TN.  Air pollutant emissions of particulate matter resulting from the operation of each transfer system will be controlled by a cartridge-filter baghouse.  These emissions are estimated to be no more than 0.0031 pound/hour and 0.014 ton/year for the three transfer systems combined.

Notice is hereby given that the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Board (the Board) will receive public comments upon the application for the Part 70 Permit Renewal and Significant Modification of the following air contaminant source located in Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Mueller Co. LLC, 1401 Mueller Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, has applied for the renewal of the Part 70 permit and incorporation of the new large casting production line into the Part 70 permit.  Increases in potential annual air pollutant emissions resulting from this installation are 9.63 tons of particulate matter, 5.84 tons of nitrogen oxides, and 7.23 tons of carbon monoxide.
